Kabarak University continues to stand tall in Kenya’s innovation journey after its Vice-Chancellor, , was named among eleven Vice-Chancellors honoured for championing student-led innovations in universities across the country. The recognition, presented by the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Kiptarus Koskei, EGH, during the ongoing 2025 in Mombasa, was conferred by the (KeNIA).

Our Vice-Chancellor, , is leading the university’s delegation at the highly anticipated 4th Commercialisation and Entrepreneurial Institutions Leaders (CEIL) Summit 2025. The summit, one of Africa’s premier gatherings for innovation and entrepreneurship, is taking place from September 11–12, 2025, at the world-class PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Convention Centre & Spa in Mombasa.

In an era where technology is rapidly reshaping human interaction, a critical question emerges: Will the digital future include the rich tapestry of African languages? At Kabarak University, we are not just asking the question—we are actively building the answer.

Kabarak University proudly participated in the Deep Learning Indaba 2025, held at the University of Rwanda’s Kigali Convention and Exhibition Hub from 17th to 22nd August 2025. This prestigious event, themed “Strengthening African AI: Urunana – Hand in Hand for AI in Africa,” brought together leading researchers, academics, innovators, industry experts, and students from across the continent and beyond to share knowledge and shape the future of Artificial Intelligence in Africa.

Our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW, joined fellow university leaders for a pivotal meeting convened by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) under the Entrepreneurial Leadership Training Program (ELTP). The session brought together 14 Vice-Chancellors from earlier ELTP phases and 11 newly onboarded, fostering collaboration and shared commitment to building Kenya’s innovation-driven future.

Kabarak University proudly participated in the Africa Regional Finals of the (CICSIC) 2025 – Africa Division, held on 25th July 2025 at the Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. This prestigious event brought together top student innovators from across the continent and was co-organized by  (China), Kabarak University, , and the Kenya Chinese Youth Association. The corresponding sub-venue was hosted at Nanjing Agricultural University in China.

Kabarak University continues to shine on the global innovation stage as two of its students, Margaret Wanjiru Njonjo and Jotham Muriu Mwangi, have been selected to represent Kenya in the prestigious AGEA Start-up Class 2025, set to take place in Leipzig, Germany this September.

Kabarak University once again stood at the forefront of academic excellence, hosting the 15th International Research Conference for the School of Science, Engineering and Technology (SSET) from 10th to 11th July 2025. The event brought together leading scholars, innovators, students, and industry experts from Kenya and beyond to explore groundbreaking solutions across three key thematic areas: Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Pure & Applied Sciences, and Environment & Energy Technology.

Kabarak University officially opened the 15th edition of the International Conference on Business, Economics and Commerce on July 1, 2025, under the timely and transformative theme: “Sustainable Business Models in the Era of Artificial Intelligence for Youth Empowerment.” Held in a hybrid format, the conference brought together distinguished scholars, industry leaders, government officials, and students to explore innovative and ethical pathways for youth-driven economic development in the age of artificial intelligence.

Kabarak University School of Music and Media proudly hosted the 4th International Research Conference on Mass Communication on Monday, June 16, 2025. Held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and the Evolution of Mass Communication: Balancing Innovation with Media and Public Relations Ethics,”  the two-day conference attracted scholars, media professionals, researchers, and students from across Kenya and beyond. It offered a robust discourse on the intersection of AI, media innovation, and ethical communication.
