On Wednesday, 8th October 2025, our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. , hosted from the and Prof. for key talks aimed at forging a partnership between Kabarak University and the (South Africa) for the establishment of the African Musicology Institute (AMI).
The proposed institute, a visionary initiative by and Prof. Wanyama, seeks to advance the study, preservation, and promotion of African music traditions and scholarship across the continent.
Also in attendance were Dr. , Dean of the School of Music and Media and AMI board member, together with members of the Kabarak University AMI team: Dr. , Mr. , and Mr. Kadupe Sofola.
This strategic collaboration underscores Kabarak University’s dedication to strengthening academic partnerships that celebrate African identity, cultural heritage, and innovation in higher education.
